The Real Techniques Miracle Complexion Sponge is legit.
I haven’t tried a bunch of beautyblender alternatives and I am a beautyblender junkie, but this is on par with that product. If someone came to me and said “$20 is too steep for a sponge.” I’d point them to Real Techniques.
Disclosure: I received this product from Black Radiance. All opinions are my own.
For the brown girl living in a world where department store brands may not be within reach Black Radiance can be the plug. I’ve been in drugstores that stock up to the first dark foundation shade when 2 or 3 follow it. This kind of thing leaves many dark skin consumers out. Consumers who are ready to spend their money and be loyal to a brand forever. So I think Black Radiance fills that space. Color correcting. Color Correction. It’s everywhere, but you may be at loss when it comes to the makeup technique. So I reached out to former MAC Cosmetics artist and all-around dope lady, Mahalia Wells (@MACnMahalia), to give you an overview of color correction and her opinions on the trend. A few times a week she hosts her own beauty centered twitter chat under the hashtag #chatnwithMACn where she provides tips to her followers and conversation around their likes and dislikes when it comes makeup, skincare and the beauty industry in general. When it comes to self-care it’s easy to default to beauty rituals and since this is a beauty blog it’s probably even easier. I want to put something else into the air about this though.
Beauty things kind of lift me up(surprise, surprise), but that’s not everyone. If that’s not you, have you investigated what helps you recharge your battery so you can keep doing what you need/want to do? What settles you? What helps you right the ship if you veer off course a bit?
If it’s a beauty thing, great, but if it’s not don’t feel wrong. What your spirit may be telling you is that getting your hair done is nice, but it’s not enough. So let me know what self-care looks like for you in the comments. Use the #burymemondays hashtag and tag me on Twitter and Instagram (@shantafabulous).
It’s 2015! *throws confetti* For the new year I’m going to start a Monday Question of the Day. It’ll be posted on the blog and my social media accounts(Instagram, Twitter, Facebook, Pinterest). It shouldn’t be anything too controversial. I’m just looking for a way to interact with you. It will even have a hashtag #BuryMeMondays. So use the hashtag with your answer or photo so we’ll all be able to keep up. So on to the inaugural question.
HOW DO YOU APPLY YOUR FOUNDATION?
Some swear by BeautyBlenders and other sponges for foundation application. Some love a stippling brush. Others like a flat foundation brush or a powder brush. And let’s not forget the people who use their hands. So how do you do it? Leave a comment below and if you want take a photo of your tool of choice. Be sure to use the hashtag #BuryMeMondays.
