Affordable Alternative: @realtechniques Miracle Complexion Sponge

Real Techniques Miracle Sponge ($6.00) available at Ulta, Walgreens, Wal-Mart and other drugstores.

The Real Techniques Miracle Complexion Sponge is legit.

I haven’t tried a bunch of beautyblender alternatives and I am a beautyblender junkie, but this is on par with that product. If someone came to me and said “$20 is too steep for a sponge.” I’d point them to Real Techniques.

Filling A Void: Black Radiance(@b_radiance) Soft Focus Finishing Powder

Disclosure: I received this product from Black Radiance. All opinions are my own.

Black Radiance Soft Focus Finishing Powder Makeup For WOC. A lightweight powder that absorbs oil and gives sheer to light coverage. A perfect powder to use during warmer weather or as a setting powder. For the brown girl living in a world where department store brands may not be within reach Black Radiance can be the plug. I’ve been in drugstores that stock up to the first dark foundation shade when 2 or 3 follow it. This kind of thing leaves many dark skin consumers out. Consumers who are ready to spend their money and be loyal to a brand forever. So I think Black Radiance fills that space. Does Your Age Dictate What Trends You Try? #BuryMeMondays

Does Your Age Dictate What Trends You Try

Things that we loved when we were younger don’t always work well for us when we’re older. At the same I think we avoid or let go of certain things because of our perceptions and not how it looks. There are lots of articles that talk about transitioning from THIS product to something more age appropriate and while that type of thinking has its place, I wonder if it stifles us.

So does your age dictate what you trends you try? Leave a comment below, use the #BuryMeMondays tag on Twitter, or send me a snap.

What Does Self-Care Look Like For You? #BuryMeMondays

What Does Self Care Look Like For You

When it comes to self-care it’s easy to default to beauty rituals and since this is a beauty blog it’s probably even easier.  I want to put something else into the air about this though.

Beauty things kind of lift me up(surprise, surprise), but that’s not everyone. If that’s not you, have you investigated what helps you recharge your battery so you can keep doing what you need/want to do? What settles you? What helps you right the ship if you veer off course a bit?

If it’s a beauty thing, great, but if it’s not don’t feel wrong. What your spirit may be telling you is that getting your hair done is nice, but it’s not enough. So let me know what self-care looks like for you in the comments. Use the #burymemondays hashtag and tag me on Twitter and Instagram (@shantafabulous).

Thumbs Up: NARS All Day Luminous Weightless Foundation

Nars All Day Luminous Weightless Foundation

Nars All Day Luminous Weightless Foundation is the first Nars foundation I’ve tried. I have used the tinted moisturizer(I like it) and I’ve used the Radiant Creamy Concealer(I like it) but I can’t compare it to Sheer Matte or Sheer Glow.
