The original Urban Decay Naked palette came out in 2011 or 2012 and I’m still waiting for it to drop in price. Maybe something is wrong with me but I don’t think it should be the same price as when it came out. The packaging alone doesn’t warrant it costing the same as the other ones. Naked 2, 3, and Smoky come in sturdy cases compared to the felt-covered magnetic case for the original. Continue reading 5 Beauty Questions That Need Answers #QTNA→
I have grand plans. Plans that involve lipstick and photos and me wearing those lipsticks in said photos. I’m not sure how it’s all going to shake out. Some say the hardest part of doing something is taking the first step. That makes sense. Many talk themselves out of doing something before the first move is made. Now I just have to keep going.
The Maybelline New York Colorblur by Lipstudio is a cream matte pencil with a blurring smudger that allows you to create different looks with the product. You can do a full-on bold look or use the smudger for barely there look.
I’m not that big on the smudger. Some of the blurred look cool like the reverse ombre but I’m not big on the barely there looks. However, I like the application of this product with one caveat that I’ll touch on in a few.
Orange Ya Glad
Partner In Crimson
I really liked the way Plum Please and Partner In Crimson wore. While there is some transfer during eating and drinking it doesn’t wear off in a way that makes me feel like I have to start with a bare lip to reapply it. They weren’t drying, heavy or tight on my lips like some matte products can be. It does apply better with a bare lip so keep that in mind if you tend to need lip balm. My only beef with it was that Orange Ya Glad gave me hell because it made me look like I didn’t exfoliate my lips. It’s pretty much unwearable for me at this point but I love the color.
There are 7 colors besides these so I will be picking up one or two more at some point. I might even do a giveaway so be on the lookout.
Maybelline New York Colorblur by Lipstudio($8.99) is available at Wal-Mart, Walgreens, CVS and other retailers.
This mascara missed the mark to me. It gave me length(Yay!), but the fibers just didn’t do it for me(boo!). They looked like stray pieces of lash attached to my own. I wanted to pick them off because they looked so out of place. This may not be an issue from far away but it threw me when I looked at my lashes up close. I bought these Maybelline eyeshadow quads with the intention to put them on with the sponge applicator. My motivation was to show that even if you’re at the beginning stages of wearing makeup you can pull off something decent. Unfortunately, that just wasn’t the case.
I started off on the wrong foot with this eyeliner. I meant to buy the Onyx Rush, a black, but I ended up coming home with Charcoal Skies, which is grey. Rather than take it back I thought I’d give it a shot anyway.

I wanted to show this look with my Urban Decay Naked 3 palette. Some people seem to love it and others seem to think the palette just okay. I like the palette but it’s definitely ranked at 3 compared to the original Naked palette and Naked 2.
Sidenote: Before I stopped on this shade of gloss I tried a sheer grape, sheer pink, and a reddish color. I’ve seen one woman pair it with black lipstick for an edgier look, but I didn’t want to do that. With all that said, what lipsticks, glosses, etc are you pairing with Naked 3?
