Black Radiance is one of those brands that I slept on because I was caught up buying expensive makeup. It happens to the best of us. Now I know there are good products out there for less than 5 bucks and my wallet thanks me for it. Continue reading Don't Sleep On Black Radiance Lipsticks
This is going to be a quick post about Black Radiance Dynamic Duo Lip Balm and Gloss. I picked this up from my local Wal-Mart last week along with the Black Radiance Eyeshadow Primer that I reviewed in my last post. The Dynamic Duo is a dual sided lip balm and gloss that gives a hint of color to the lips with lots of shine and moisture.
The balm side ascends/descends by twisting the tube. The gloss side screws off and reveals a doe foot wand for easy application.
I didn’t have any problems reapplying after eating or drinking. The Black Radiance website says it has a “delicious berry flavor”, but I smelled it more than I tasted it. That isn’t a big deal to me though. I think this is a good product for when you’re doing the bare minimum but still want a bit color. You can use the products together or separately to create the look you want. With it being two products in one you might be able to get out the door with less in your bag. Hooray for multitasking!
Black Radiance Dynamic Duo Balm and Lip Gloss retail for $3.99 and are available at most Walgreens, Wal-mart, online, and wherever Black Radiance products are sold.
When it comes to eyeshadow primers some are cult-faves for a reason. They move from being a splurge to being a necessity in spite of price. However, we don’t all want to pay that price and lucky for us budget friendly alternatives to those cult-faves exist.
This is Black Radiance Perfecting Eye Shadow Primer and at $3.99 is worth a shot if the more expensive primers give you sticker shock.
I snagged this from my local Wal-Mart Wednesday morning and it works. It made my eyeshadow more intense. It didn’t crease. It didn’t fade. It also absorbed into my lid rather than just sit on top.
I used the Ulta eyeshadow in Galaxy to test the product. I figured if it can work with a cheaper shadow then the more expensive ones should be fine. One eye was primed while the other one wasn’t. After about four hours the eyeshadow that wasn’t primed started to fade while the other eyeshadow was still intact.
I kept it on for another hour and had to take it off because I didn’t want to pick up my children sporting unblended and fading eyeshadow. The non-primed eye wiped away easily with a make-up wipe. My primed eye took a little bit more effort so I know that eyeshadow was sticking to the primer.
Overall I’m happy with the purchase. As much I love the expensive products finding something works for a fraction of the price is still great.
Will you give Black Radiance Perfecting Eye Shadow Primer a go? What’s your go-to eyeshadow primer?

There’s a lot of talk about BB creams in the beauty world. As a consumer I was curious about them because they’re a recent beauty development here in the United States, but discouraged to try them because there weren’t any for my complexion. However, beauty companies are beginning to make BB creams for women of color, which is great. So let me introduce to you the Black Radiance True Complexion BB Cream.
This BB cream is SPF 15 and comes in 5 shades. I happened to only get Coffee Glaze. I feel pretty lucky that I was able to get a shade that worked with my skintone because there weren’t any testers out so I was basically guessing.
One of the big things about BB creams is that it’s supposed streamline your make-up application by possibly replacing your sunscreen, moisturizer, primer, and/or foundation. I used it more like a tinted moisturizer. I used my SPF 30 moisturizer even though this product. While products with SPF 15 can block out 94% of UVA/UVB rays, SPF 30 blocks out 97%. I also still primed because I’m just creature of habit and I have oily skin.
If you’re oily this product may or may not be for you. According to the website it says that it works well with normal and combination skin, but it’s also oil-free. Most drug stores have good return policies. If it turns out that this isn’t for you then make sure you take it back.
I don’t think this product is going to replace my foundation. This product is not going to give the kind of coverage I want when I’m doing a full face. However, I think this is a happy medium between a completely bare face and full face of makeup. And that’s a great option. Putting on mascara, brow powder and the Black Radiance BB Cream and feeling together is pretty awesome.
So are you a big fan of BB creams? If you have darker skin will you be trying this product out? And if you have tried it let me know what you think.
Black Radiance True Complexion BB Creams retails for $5.99 and can be found where Black Radiance products are sold.
