On August 1st some serious makeup news hit my Instagram and the internet in general. After years of waiting, Fenty Beauty by Rihanna got a release date of September 8th, 2017 and will be available exclusively at Sephora, Sephora.com, and FentyBeauty.com. When I tell you I stopped everything I was doing to repost this photo I’m not joking with you.

PR is super tight with any info on this. A month ago a video of an alleged Fenty Beauty highlighter dropped and there was zero confirmation or denial that was true.

Fenty Beauty by Rihanna is part of the Kendo division of LVMH Moët Hennesy Louis Vuitton. Kendo brands include Ole Henriksen, Marc Jacobs Beauty, Kat Von D, and Bite Beauty. My hope is that the Fenty Beauty price range is somewhere close to the price range of these brands.

For instance, Kat Von D’s Lock-It Foundation is $35 and Marc Jacobs Beauty Re(marc)able Foundation is $55. If an FB foundation is around that price it’s awesome because folks aren’t getting priced out. Same with lips. It could go as high or higher than the $30 it costs for an MJ lipstick or as low as KVD or BITE Beauty that are $20 and $26 respectively.

This, of course, is all speculation. More info will roll out as it gets closer to the release date. We’ll know if it’s an extensive makeup launch with everything from foundation to highlighters to lipsticks or something more limited. In the meantime, we need to save some coins.

My plan is to go on a no-buy. We’re lucky we need food and water because I’d be just breathing until the September 8th, ok?  I’m using Digit to save. It’s a formerly free money saving tool that takes money from your bank account without you having to think about it. There are other options that are completely free but I chose to stick with Digit even with the $2.99 monthly fee.

I love it because I’m updated each day about what’s going with my bank account and can control how much is being saved with my phone. If you haven’t signed up for it then you can sign up here with my link bit.ly/2vc78k5. I’ll get $5 for referring you and you’ll get another way to save money so by the time Fenty Beauty by Rihanna drops you won’t have to choose between looking fly eating Top Ramen or watching all your friends love their new makeup while you’re being responsible.
