What Was Your First Foundation? #BuryMeMondays

Title

My first foundation was a Cover Girl one in Soft Sable. I have no idea how good or how bad it looked but I remember using it, eventually hitting pan and purchasing it again. Not long after that I bought a pink Caboodles organizer and my dad let me order things from an Avon rep he knew. That foundation got the ball rolling for me when it came to makeup. I probably looked like a fool but there aren’t any pictures so I’ll pretend I was cute. 😉

I haven’t revisited that foundation, but when I pass it in the drugstore I smile to myself and think about how much time has passed between now and then. It’s a good memory. Do you have fond memories of your first foundation or do you cringe at the thought of it? Have you moved on or is it an old faithful? 1. Oh man.. My first foundation was that Maybelline Dream Mousse stuff that oxidizes like crazy.. On top of the oxidation, I had the wrong shade. I’m pale, like NARS Siberia pale. I now use either Makeup Forever HD or Guerlain Lingerie De Peau, both mixed with MAC Face and Body White.

    1. One of these days I’m going to give Iman a shot. It’s always wrapped so well in the drugstore that it’s hard to see the colors and sometimes I don’t want to deal with the trial and error.

  2. My first foundation was put on me because I was 17 and was going to prom was MAC studio tech in NC 50. I ahve moved on to liquid foundations that are lighter in feeling but when I think of it I have only one complaint, I felt like it was too much. I wouldnt wear it again but it will be forever my 1st.

    1. That heavy feeling sucks especially when that’s the only complaint. That’s so cool that you got your makeup done for prom. As much as I love makeup I don’t have any experience with special occasion makeup.

      1. I hate special occasion makeup before 2014 which brought HD powders and foundations and concealers. There was an obviously makeup look that in person made you very cakey but in the photos made you look quite pretty. The quality of makeup now isnt as heavy when it comes to special occasion makeup

  3. Revlon Colourstay Mineral Mousse Makeup…it’s discontinued though. I hated it and wouldn’t repurchase it ever again haha. Transferred EVERYWHERE even after setting, didn’t control any oil whatsoever, and it felt really weird on my skin

  4. My first foundation was the Mac Studio Fix Fluid! Soooo heavy and cakey! It made me break out, and I didn’t even need to wear foundation at the time. But, at least I got it color matched and wasn’t walking around with the wrong shade 🙂

    1. Oh no! That’s good it was your color though. I’m guilty of wearing the wrong shade at times. There’s not a lot emphasis on mixing shades to fix that unless you’re already a professional MUA though so the typical consumer is kinda stuck.
